Special Voting Live Updates | Ghana News Agency

Accra, Dec. 2, GNA – Voting at the various polling centres for the Special Voting exercise has started nationwide.

The GNA’s monitoring of the exercise indicates that voting has taken off smoothly across centres with no major incident recorded.

Voting is scheduled to close at 1700 hours.

At the Ablekuma South Constituency polls opened at 0703 hours, with a total of 465 voters expected to cast their ballot.  As of 07:50 hours, 40 people had already cast their ballot.

At the Ablekuma North Constituency, voting commenced at 0705 hours, with a total of 428 persons expected to cast their ballot.

Chief superintendent Anita Abrokwa, Divisional Commander, Tesano Police Station, was the first to cast her ballot at the Okaikwei Central Special Voting Centre at about 0701 hours.

Mr Patrick Yaw Boamah, New Patriotic Party parliamentary aspirant for Okaikwei Central, on a visit to the polling station commended members of the security services for their commitment to ensure a free and fair elections.

At Hohoe, voting took off smoothly at 0700 hours morning with a total of 827 voters taking part in the exercise.

Mr Enoch Danso Agyekum, Hohoe Municipal Electoral Officer tells the GNA that all materials for the exercise were received way ahead of time.

As of 08:35am, 53 people had cast their ballots at the Oforikrom Constituency.

The Special Voting Exercise begins in the Pru East constituency of the Bono East East Region without delay. 

Out of the 817 voters expected to cast their ballot at the Pru East constituency , 84 of them have voted so far.

More than 20 people have so far cast their ballots out of a total number of 187 voters in the register.

Some 60 people have so far cast their votes, out of a total number of 679 voters in the Tamale Central Constituency.

More than 100 voters have cast their ballots as at 0900 hours, in the ongoing Special Voting exercise in the Odododiodioo Constituency.
