Kumasi Dec. 02, GNA – Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa, has described the ongoing special voting exercise in the constituency as “very impressive” and said that should translate into the actual elections on Saturday.
Speaking to journalists after observing the voting exercise at the Asokwa Divisional Police Command, she said the proceedings had so far been smooth and impressive.
Madam Appiagyei said with the performance of the government in all sectors, the NPP was in a better position to win the elections and called on the people in the area to continue to vote for the NPP to continue with the various social intervention programmes currently going on across the country.
Mr Joseph Obeng Dwamena, Presiding Officer at the centre, told the Ghana News Agency that, voting started at 7am and as at 11am, 105 out of the total number of 415 people had cast their votes.
Nana Augustus Kwasi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, who also visited the centre, expressed happiness about voting proceedings and said if the process continued like that, there would be free and fair elections in the main elections.
