Kumasi-based pastor, Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, also known as St. Sark and founder of the Open Arms Ministry, has sparked controversy with bold allegations against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
During an interview on Onua FM, St. Sark claimed that Dr. Bawumia will not vote for himself in the upcoming elections, suggesting that even President Akufo-Addo and former President Kufuor would not support the NPP candidate. St. Sark went on to assert that Dr. Bawumia is “spiritually entangled,” and that voting for himself would bring serious consequences.
“Bawumia will not vote for himself because he knows if he does, he will bring a big problem upon himself,” St. Sark stated. “This election is between a blessing and a curse. Bawumia cannot vote for himself because he has gotten himself involved in a spiritual entanglement.”
The pastor further alleged that this supposed “entanglement” is tied to Dr. Bawumia’s alleged involvement with a shrine, an accusation that has drawn significant attention and criticism. St. Sark described the claim as an “abomination to Christendom,” sparking a fierce debate about its legitimacy and intentions.
Additionally, St. Sark criticized Dr. Bawumia for failing to fulfill promises, particularly his pledge to build secondary schools in Zongo communities. The pastor described the unkept promise as an example of dishonesty, adding, “Lying is haram in the presence of God, and the Bible describes the devil as the father of all liars. And Bawumia is a liar.”
These comments have led to polarized reactions, with some questioning their validity, while others see it as an attack on Dr. Bawumia’s character and integrity.
