Ghana’s Electoral Commission Announces Special Voting Locations Ahead of 2024 Elections

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has revealed the locations for the Special Voting scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024, ahead of the country’s general elections on December 7.

A total of 328 centres will be set up across the nation, with approximately 131,478 eligible voters expected to participate.

This special voting provision is designed for individuals who, due to their roles on Election Day, would be unable to vote at their designated polling stations. It specifically covers personnel in critical sectors such as the Ghana Armed Forces, the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), National Security, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, and the Information Services Department.

The Special Voting allows these voters to cast their ballots in advance, ensuring they can perform their official duties while still participating in the democratic process. This early voting initiative highlights the country’s commitment to enabling every eligible citizen to have a voice in the upcoming election.
