Abuja Native Doctor Testing ‘Bullet Proof’ Charm Shoots Himself In Stomach And Lands In hospital

The Nigeria Police Force in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has reported a strange and shocking incident involving a native doctor, Ismail Usman, in Kuchibuyi Village, Kubwa. Usman allegedly shot himself on Friday, November 23, 2024, while testing a self-made “bulletproof” charm, an act that has since drawn widespread attention.

Using a shotgun to test the charm, Usman sustained severe injuries when the protective powers of the charm failed. He was rushed to the Kubwa General Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for more advanced care.

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that Usman would face charges, including unlawful possession of firearms and attempted suicide, as outlined under Section 231 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria. She revealed that the incident was reported through a distress call by Shandam Michael, prompting a swift police response. Officers from the Byazhin Division arrived at the scene to find Usman in critical condition.

A subsequent search of Usman’s home uncovered the homemade gun used in the incident along with various charms associated with the failed experiment. SP Adeh took the opportunity to warn the public against engaging in unsafe and illegal practices, highlighting the dangers of experimenting with firearms and charms.

“The charm, unfortunately, failed to protect him, resulting in life-threatening injuries,” SP Adeh explained. “Investigations are ongoing, and Usman is expected to face legal consequences for his reckless actions.”
