AGI pledges to promote peace ahead of December 7 elections

President of the Association of Ghana Industries, Dr. Humphrey Ayim-Darke, has lauded the National Elections Security Taskforce for the plans put in place to ensure maximum peace during the December 7 elections.

Speaking at an engagement between the union and the National Election Security Taskforce, he gave the assurance that the union will do its bit to ensure peace ahead of the elections.

’The participation of citizens in an electoral process is a must, and we are glad that you have put together such an initiative to give us the assurance that we need.’’

According to Dr. Ayim-Darke, Transparency and accountability are the hallmarks of a peaceful and stable democratic era, hence their call for peace as businesses thrive in a stable environment.

‘’We will pledge our support to vote as citizens and call the toll-free lines when we see situations that are uncalled for, we will call on your team, and finally, we pledge our support to the task force,’’ he added.
