The one-week celebration of the late Flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, has been held on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at her hometown, Ejuratia, in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region.

Visuals of the event cited by GhanaWeb show preparation works ongoing at the venue for Akua Donkor’s one-week celebration.

The red and black canopy tents displayed at the venue of the event also had some timeline photos of the late flagbearer, portraying aspects of her life.

Scores of people had also already arrived for the celebration, as could be seen in the videos.

About Akua Donkor’s death:

Ghanaians woke up to the shocking news of Akua Donkor’s death on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Her family confirmed that she died on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, where she was receiving treatment after falling ill.

She died at the age of 83.

Akua Donkor was the presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party for the pending December 7, 2024.

The party presented Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi (Roman Fada) as her replacement, but he was disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC).
