The assistant coach of the Sudanese national team, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has said that he is ready to handle the Black Stars coaching job if given the opportunity.

He explained that having worked under Sudan head coach James Kwasi Appiah and garnered some experience in coaching a national team, he is ready to make an impact,

The former Dreams FC manager stated that with his experience as a coach with a CAF License A certificate, he is well prepared to coach the Black Stars.

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Osei-Fosu added that coaching is not always about tactics but how the manager relates with the players.

“I think, tactically, I can be able to do the job [Black Stars coach]. Because what is tactical approach? I am a License A coach and I can do practical approach.

“But there are other things to the job that have nothing to do with tactics. Sometimes, it has everything to do with your human relationship,” he said.

However, he indicated that he needs to learn more from Kwasi Appiah and receive his blessings to take another coaching role if the opportunity comes.

“I think I need to learn more from Kwasi Appiah. If he says, ‘Ignatius, I think you have been with me for one year now, the Black Stars are calling you. I think you are ready to go.’ Then it’s like a master blessing his servant to go and work,” he added.

Osei-Fosu and Kwasi Appiah led war-torn Sudan to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 12 years.
