President Nana Akufo-Addo has been called out for being tribalistic and discriminatory after a video of him getting up and walking to greet Otumfuo Osei Tutu II surfaced on social media.
The President throughout his time in office has gotten into several clashes with chiefs who he accused of being disrespectful.
On more than one occasion while in certain parts of the country, the President has refused to show customary respect to certain chiefs and instead sent his minions to order those chiefs to get up and greet him instead of him going to greet them as a guest on their land.
That attitude has been widely condemned by Ghanaians yet during a recent appearance before Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, none of the President’s arrogance could be seen.
He got up from his seat and went to greet the Asantehene as is customary.

His actions led social media users to call him out as a tribal bigot.
“But when he gets to the North he orders them to stand and greet him.” one user wrote.
