Jamaludeen A. Abdullah, the personal assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has clarified that Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is not owed any salaries.

Speaking to GhanaWeb Sports, he explained that the coach is paid his salary every month and there have not been any outstanding payments.

The sports minister’s aide urged the public to disregard any report claiming that Otto Addo and his technical team are owed three months’ salaries.

“As far as I’m concerned, the Ministry of Youth and Sports does not owe Otto Addo any salary. His salaries have been paid and we don’t have any official complaints from him or the FA to the effect that he has not been paid,” Jamal told GhanaWeb Sports.

This comes after a report by Kessben FM alleged that Otto Addo and his entire technical team are owed three months’ salaries.

The report further stated that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are in talks with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to settle the arrears as soon as possible to prevent controversies.

Meanwhile, Otto Addo’s future is uncertain after he failed to qualify the Black Stars for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, recording three draws and three losses without a win after six matches.

The GFA Executive Council has scheduled a meeting with the coach on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, to assess his report on the AFCON qualifiers and determine his fate.
