Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng, a political science lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, revealed that the NPP is in a panic in the Ashanti Region because they are afraid the NDC will win more votes.
In an interview with host Akua Boakyewaa Yiadom on Adom FM, he claimed that while the NPP government has finished a number of projects, it has failed to build any major projects in Kumasi, unlike the previous president who established a substantial market there.
Now that they have realized their mistakes, the NPP Party has begun constructing some roads.
“The Ashanti Region clearly gave the New Patriotic Party a lot of support, but it appears they weren’t given their due portion of the cake. Kumasi lacks even a single interchange, but Accra now boasts three new ones.
The NDC may win more votes, which has the NPP in a panic. Although they have since acknowledged their mistakes, the Ashanti Region did not vote for John Mahama, who built the Kumasi Kejetia Market.
Because these are merely errors, he continued, “inadvertently mentioning an opponent’s name during campaigns will have no impact on the election result.”
Dr. Kwesi Amakye Boateng further underlined that it is improper and could impede the nation’s political advancement to give voters cash or food in an attempt to win votes.
