The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has rejected the request of the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) to observe the upcoming elections. According to Dr. Bossman Asare, a Deputy Commissioner of the EC, the commission allows organizations to apply for observer status, but approval is not automatic .
This isn’t the first time the EC has rejected an application for observer status. They also rejected Election Watch Ghana’s application for accreditation as an observer for the 2024 general elections .
