Your political career is finished

Bernard Allotey Jacobs has reprimanded the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen, over his recent comments targeted at former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

In an interview on Sunday, November 17, former President Kufuor called on Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia in the December elections, describing him as the most suitable candidate to lead the nation.

“Considering the present global context, I genuinely believe that Ghana’s economy would grow substantially if Bawumia were elected President.”

“With divine guidance, he is more than capable of fulfilling this promise, and I urge you to back his candidacy.”

“I have observed his remarkable economic skills during my presidency when he was an essential part of the Bank of Ghana’s team under Governor Dr. Paul Acquah, helping to stabilize the national currency,” Kufuor stated.

But Alan Kyerematen, in an interview on Oyerepa TV on Monday, November 18, slammed Mr. Kufuor, saying he is venturing into dangerous territory.

He said, “Kufuor is my uncle, and I hesitate to publicly criticize him.”

“However, his endorsement has cast a significant shadow over his political career. Have you noticed how his comments have sparked negative reactions and criticism from the public?”

“He has long been a respected figure in Ghana, so why would he choose to involve himself in partisan politics in this manner? His actions are regrettable, and he is venturing into dangerous territory.”

Responding to Alan’s assertions, Allotey Jacobs exclaimed that for Alan to have scolded Kufuor, a man who has played an instrumental role in Alan’s political successes, his (Alan’s) political career is finished.

“Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen’s politics is finished. The definition of democracy, the concept of democracy, the practice of democracy; it is well practised in the Ashanti Region,” he said.

Allotey Jacobs, further registering his displeasure with Alan’s attitude towards Kufuor, called out the latter’s ingratitude and deception for claiming he (Alan) masterminded about 70% of Kufuor’s policies.

“He has been pampered by President Kufuor. Kufuor has made him what he is. He shouldn’t come to lie to Ghanaians that they begged him not to contest Kufuor; it is deception. He shouldn’t do that. He shouldn’t denigrate this man,” Allotey lamented on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show.
