The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, commonly known as Nana B, has rejected claims made by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that Brigadier General Michael Opoku is assisting the NPP in rigging the upcoming elections in the Ashanti Region.
This follows accusations from Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, who alleged that Brigadier General Opoku had been instructed by President Akufo-Addo to train NPP vigilantes at military facilities, including Asuture.
Gyamfi also claimed to have photographic evidence showing that military facilities were being used for such training. Additionally, he linked these vigilantes to the violence that occurred during the Ayawaso by-elections.
In response to these allegations, Nana B dismissed them as baseless. He criticized the NDC for making serious accusations without providing credible evidence.
“Such claims are nothing more than a desperate attempt by the NDC to create unnecessary tension and distract Ghanaians from their own failings,” Nana B said.
“You cannot make such grave allegations against a Brigadier General without any proof and expect us to take you seriously,” he added.
Nana B firmly stated that no one would be able to rig the upcoming elections, assuring the public that votes would be counted fairly at all polling stations. He expressed confidence that the ruling NPP would secure victory in the elections.
“His Excellency, Vice President Dr. Bawumia, will become the next President, and nothing will stop that,” he declared.
Nana B also challenged anyone with ill intentions ahead of the elections, reinforcing that the NPP would emerge victorious, regardless of any attempts to disrupt the process.
