Today, November 20th, it was reported that one person was feared dead in the tragic accident that occurred on the Abura Dunkwa to Assin Fosu road.
However, a miraculous update has emerged. According to reports from EDNews, no one in the truck or the other vehicle was killed when the load fell on them. The driver of the truck, who was significantly impacted, miraculously survived and was rescued, sustaining only minor injuries.
How the accident occurred:
A large tipper truck, loaded up and apparently heavy, was moving along when disaster struck. Another smaller tipper truck was parked on the right side, with yet another vehicle parked beside it. Suddenly, the heavy load from the larger truck tipped over, crashing onto the smaller tipper and partially smashing the other vehicle.
Many pointed fingers at overloading and poor road safety practices as the culprits behind this accident. It’s was described as a preventable catastrophe. Eyewitness accounts suggest that reckless driving and the lack of enforcement of road safety regulations contributed to the incident .

Ghanaians on social media reacted strongly. User A said: “Y’all are tasked with ensuring road safety, their negligence allows preventable accidents. Failing to enforce laws or inspect vehicles makes them equally responsible. Authorities that watch but fail to act are unacceptable.”
User B added: “You can be driving safely and one reckless driver will take away your life.”
User C chimed in: “Some of these cars take more than they can carry, this is the result. They pass through many police barriers but they don’t question them. If they carried the quantity they’re supposed to, this wouldn’t happen.”
Let’s learn something from this. Bad roads can create dangerous situations, especially when vehicles are overloaded. Ghanaians, please be cautious when driving near heavy trucks. Don’t stay close to them for too long.
