President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that the idea of building the new headquarters of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), The Bank Square was a result of the need to modernise Ghana’s buildings to meet the demands of a fast-changing world.
He said the new building is a testament to the central bank’s maturity and enduring relevance.
Speaking during the commissioning of the facility in Accra on Wednesday, November 20, he said “This is a testament to the bank’s vision of maturity and enduring relevance. It reflects Ghana’s commitment to modernise her institutions to meet the demands of the fast-changing world.”
Also speaking at the same event, the Minister of Finance Dr Mohammed Amin Adam said that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had steered the economy to become stronger.
He says that all the economic indicators are pointing in the right direction.
Banks., he said, are posting impressive performance.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Bank Square, the new headquarters of the Bank of Ghana in Accra on Wednesday, November 20, he said “The leadership at the Bank of Ghana has proven to be competent in upholding the interest of the country.”
“Mr President, you have steered this economy to a strong economy. The economy is getting stronger and stronger under your leadership, growth has exceeded the target, and banks are posting strong impressive performance.”
He further indicated that the new headquarters of the central bank will “provide a conducive environment for the bank’s dedicated staff to execute the mandate with efficiency and effectiveness.”
