Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to investigate and prosecute him if they have evidence of financial mismanagement during his tenure.

Speaking during a campaign tour in the New Juaben Constituency in Koforidua, Mahama refuted longstanding allegations by the NPP and urged them to substantiate their claims with concrete proof.

“I challenge the NPP government; if there is any evidence that I have misused Ghanaian money, they should investigate and prosecute me. But if they don’t have any concrete evidence, they should stop making false accusations. The NDC government will hold accountable every individual in the NPP government who has mismanaged Ghana’s resources,” Mahama declared.

He criticised the government for focusing on baseless accusations instead of addressing pressing national issues and fulfilling their campaign promises.

“It’s time they focused on delivering results for Ghanaians rather than engaging in false accusations and propaganda,” he added.

Mahama also urged residents of the New Juaben Constituency to vote for him and the NDC parliamentary candidate in the upcoming general elections, promising that the NDC would bring development and progress to the area.

As the December 2024 elections approach, Mahama’s challenge intensifies the political discourse, putting the spotlight on accountability and the credibility of accusations in Ghanaian politics.
