Global InfoAnalytics Predicts Outcome Of Ashanti Region Results In The 2024 Elections

The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is unlikely to achieve its target of 85% of votes in the Ashanti Region during the 2024 elections.

According to poll results, the NPP’s ambitious goal may not materialize, which could affect the party’s overall performance in the 2024 general elections.

The report further highlights that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by John Dramani Mahama, is making significant progress in the Ashanti Region. The NDC is reportedly gaining support and is approaching the 30% mark in a region traditionally dominated by the NPP.

The Ashanti Region, known for its large voter population, has historically been a key factor in determining the outcome of Ghana’s general elections. Any notable changes in voter behavior in this region are likely to influence the national results.

Mussa Dankwah also revealed that the NPP might lose most of its parliamentary seats in the Western Region, retaining only the Sekondi seat.

Speaking during an interview on Connect FM on Tuesday morning, he explained that voters’ priorities have shifted, with more emphasis now placed on economic issues and job creation when choosing who to vote for.

Dankwah mentioned that the Sekondi parliamentary seat is safe for the NPP due to the impressive performance of the current Member of Parliament (MP), Andrew Egyapa Mercer. He noted that, at times, an MP’s personal efforts can overshadow their party’s overall performance. In this case, Mercer’s work has likely earned him the trust of voters to retain his seat.

Addressing the situation in the Essikadu-Ketan Constituency, Dankwah said that the NDC is currently leading. However, he cautioned that more effort is needed to secure the seat and warned against complacency as the election draws closer.
