One person was killed and multiple others injured following an accident on the Accra-Tema motorway in the early hours of Tuesday, November 19th, 2024.
The accident occurred when a sprinter bus with registration number GT 4867-13 veered off the road into a bush.
The driver of the bus, Isaac Atsu-Hanu, 42, was killed on the spot. Several other passengers were injured but survived.
According to eyewitness reports, the buss was headed from Tema Adje Koko underbridge towards Lapaz when the crash occurred.
The driver was reportedly attempting to dodge a pothole on the highway when he lost control and entered the other lanes before ending up in some bushes.
The driver was the sole fatality of the crash and personnel from the National Ambulance Service who reported to the crash site transported his body to a nearby hospital morgue.
