The countdown to the 2024 general elections scheduled for 7th December now stands at only 18 days. Tensions have drastically risen on the political landscape as these last moments are a key period to determine the final choice for voters. The electoral commission has also reiterated their readiness to make the upcoming election a successful and transparent one.
Global Analytics, a leading authority in polling and electoral trend analysis, has released its latest update, revealing that a key candidate has maintained a steady lead with 52.1% of public support as of 16th November. This development signals a pivotal moment in the ongoing electoral campaign, as the candidate continues to consolidate their position in a competitive political race.
In a post sighted on their official twitter page, the results of the final national poll conducted between 11th-16th November shows that NDC’s John Mahama maintains a significant and steady lead in the polls with 51.9% support. Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in second place with 40.5%, Nana Kwame Bediako come third with 4.7%, Alan Kyerematen on 2.1% and others with 0.7%. However, the previous analysis has indicated a possible turn of tables ahead of the elections. With less than three weeks for Ghanaians to head to the polls, the survey shows that John Mahama is steady and above the threshold required to avoid a runoff, Dr Bawumia slips and loses grounds to Nana Kwame Bediako and other candidates.
However, experts caution against complacency. As history has shown, late-stage shifts in voter sentiment, unexpected events, or strategic errors could still alter the trajectory. Global Analytics plans to release further updates in the coming weeks, offering a clearer picture of how this lead evolves as campaigns intensify and voters finalize their choices.
