KMJ, Doreen Avio To Host 2024 GMA-UK

Award-winning radio and television personalities, Doreen Avio and Kpekpo Maxwell Justice (KMJ), have been named hosts of the upcoming Ghana Awards UK (GMA-UK 2024), slated for November 30, at the Meridian Grand.

The Ghana Awards UK is being organised by Alordia Promotions and West Coast to reward deserving Ghanaian artistes for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the growth of Ghana’s music industry.

Unlike previous awards, this year’s event is aimed at taking Ghanaian music to another level by using the crème de la crème in showbiz to exhibit the rich Ghanaian culture.

KMJ and Doreen are not new to the award scheme; they have played various hosting roles over the years.

Doreen Avio is a Ghanaian entertainment writer, radio and television show host with the Multimedia Group.

As a Master of Ceremonies, she has mounted the stage of many local and international events, including the 2017 Miss Ghana Diaries, the MTN Festival in 2018, and Guinness’ Black Shines Brightest campaign, among others.

KMJ is a radio/TV personality, events MC, actor, voice-over-artiste, and brand influencer.

He has emceed events such as the 2023 Ghana Awards USA, the official launch and nominees announcement of the Ghana Awards UK in 2023, the 2023 official launch and nominees announcement of Ghana Awards Europe, among others.

The organisers urged patrons of the event to expect a night full of glitz and glamour as well as a memorable experience from both the main show and that of the red carpet, as the event celebrates Ghanaian musicians.

 

Some of the artistes billed for the event include Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, Ofori Amponsah, Barosky, Kofi Nti, Joseph Matthew as well as gospel superstar Esther Smith will perform at the event.

Others are Epixode, Charles Kalah, Alice McKenzie, Kofi Badd, Theo Vesachi, Kimilist and Star Vicy.

Veteran female highlife act, Akosua Agyapong, has also been invited to perform at the awards ceremony.

Some of the awards categories include Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Producer of the Year, Best Rapper of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year, Highlife Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year, among others.
