‘I don’t agree with the jurisdiction, there is no way I will agree with the supreme court’

Martin Kpebu was recently Interviewed on Joy News earlier today by Kofi via a phone call and he opened up about a lot of things including the supreme court judgement on vacant seats.

“In his Words”

“Absolutely Kojo, that has been situation atleast from the few cases that has been sighted. You remember, it didn’t start with just Mr Michael, so what is at play and by the way, Kofi said that everybody agrees with the jurisdiction is not true, not everybody agreed, I don’t agree. The bottom line is that, I always say that what we are confronted with is that, we have different mindset, different philosophical outlook, different jurisidential outlook so the bottom line is that the one in the seat, the one who’s the supreme court judge can not because of the rest agree”.

“Kojo, I always say that let’s remember that it’s one exam we took to become lawyers, all the judges included. So afterwards, you decide to become a lawyer or you want to be a judge then you pursue that. There is one exam, you take the exam you are out of law school that’s it, the only requirement is that you continue practicing law right if you want to join the judges later on”.

“So this thing, we will continue shouting ourselves because there is no way I will agree with the supreme court because what it is for me, the provision is very clear, and what is also very clear is that I don’t have the power, it’s the supreme court that has the power so they decide what is the law and not because jurisdictially there persuaded me”.

“Listen, the provision is very clear, what we are confusing in this case is that an undesirable law should be twisted to become the desirable one that we want no, we didn’t write the provision well, that is what we should accept”, Martin Kpebu said.

Joy FM shared the video on their official instagram page today being Friday the 15th day of November, 2024 and it stirred massive reactions from the general public. Click on the link below to watch the video.
