Ejuraman Declares Support For Veep

The people of Ejuraman in the Ashanti Region have declared their support for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Making the declaration during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign visit to the town yesterday, Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie II, sang the praises of Dr. Bawumia, touting him as a philanthropist, humanist and a deep thinker who has brought many developmental projects to Ejura and its surrounding communities.

“Ejuraman and Barima have decided to stand solidly behind you in this venture,” he said. “We know and appreciate the many development projects you have done for us, so we will support you through and through till thy kingdom come. All we ask from God is to see the goodness, your sense of fellow-feeling and love in you, and grant you the keys to this nation,” he said in praise of the NPP flagbearer.

The Ejurahene listed the many developmental projects the NPP government has undertaken in the town, including the provision of water to the whole of Ejura, the ongoing construction of one of the Agenda 111 Hospitals in the area, helping to elevate the Ejura District Police Headquarters to a Division, assisting to bring Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to the area, and the reroofing of the dining hall of Ejuraman Senior High School, which is almost completed, after a recent storm destroyed the roofing.

Apart from that, the Ejurahene indicated that “the fact that the baby elephant always stands next to the mother elephant, Ejuraman has also decided that this year we are sending a female to Parliament that is in the person of Gifty Ndoma, who was not just born and bred in Ejura, but whose father is a chief in this town and the mother is also a respected woman.”

That, he said, was because “she has been well accepted by all and sundry including Christian and Muslim leaders, as well as the entire Ejura, so we will make sure she becomes the next parliamentarian.”

On his part, Dr. Bawumia had cause to respond to the latest propaganda from the stables of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) which suggests that he wants to become president so he can use his position to make his wife’s kinsmen, the Fulanis, to become more powerful in Ghana in order to annex people’s lands and destroy their farms.

That, he said, “will not happen today, tomorrow or ever,” describing it as a desperate propaganda by the NDC to cause needless and mindless disaffection for the Fulani people.

He, therefore, promised that under his leadership no one will be treated better or superior than the other, insisting, “Everyone will be treated equal by the law.”

“Don’t listen to that propaganda because we want to bring development to all persons; just give me the power and you will realise at the end of the four years that you did the right thing voting for me,” he assured.

Apart from that, Dr. Bawumia said agriculture will be his number one priority when elected president.

That, he said, will be to support the over 60% of Ghanaian populace who are involved in the agricultural value chain.

He promised to also establish mechanised centres across the country where farmers will source farming inputs readily and at cheaper rates.
