A relook at Odododiodioo constituency

As the 2024 general elections approach, it’s essential to revisit the 2020 elections and examine the dynamics within the Odododiodioo constituency.

The 2020 elections were marked by intense competition and significant voter turnout, reflecting the constituency’s political engagement.

In the 2020 presidential race, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured a decisive victory in the Odododiodioo constituency, garnering 42,636 of the votes.

His main rival, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received 33,896. The parliamentary race was equally competitive, with Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye of the NDC winning 41,446 of the votes. His closest contender, Edward Patrick Nii Lante Bannerman of the NPP, secured 34,887.

But both the NPP and NDC are presenting fresh candidates for the 2024 parliamentary race.

The NPP’s new parliamentary candidate is Abdul Mannaf Sowah and the NDC’s new candidate is Alfred Kotey Ashie.

With 23 days left to the elections, the question is, Can this be the year that the NPP breaks the NDC’s hold and swings the tide in its favour?
