Dear GhanaWeb,
I met an amazing guy on social media, and our conversations quickly grew into something special. We started dating, and it felt like we were on the same page about everything. We discuss anything and everything, from our daily lives to our future dreams.
We even make video calls regularly, which makes the connection feel even more real. He once visited me at my place, but I haven’t been to his yet. He’s a student, and with exams around the corner, he asked me to wait until he’s done before visiting him. I respected that because I know how stressful exams can be.
On my birthday, he went out of his way to make me feel incredibly happy. We spent the entire day talking, and for the first time in a while, I felt truly loved and appreciated. It was one of those days when everything felt perfect, and I couldn’t stop smiling. He seemed to know just how to make my day special, and I felt lucky to have him in my life.
After my birthday, I had to visit my mom, and he was so supportive to the extent that he was encouraging me to go. While I was there, we kept in touch as usual. The next day, I had some errands to run at my mom’s shop in Mampong, and I thought it would be nice to surprise him with a quick visit. When I mentioned it to him, he asked me not to come because he had an important exam the next day. I totally understood, so I carried on with my day.
That evening, when I got home, I tried calling, but he didn’t answer. I figured he might be studying, so I sent him a text instead. But hours passed, and there was still no response. This was unusual because he’s always been quick to reply, especially since he once told me he couldn’t go a day without hearing my voice. Over the next few days, I kept trying to reach him, but there was no answer to my calls or texts.
Today, after what felt like an eternity, he finally picked up when I called, but something was off. His tone was different, not the warm, affectionate greeting I was used to. Then I heard something in the background that made my heart sink, a woman’s voice. I remember him telling me that he lives alone, so this caught me completely off guard.
Before I could ask anything, he abruptly ended the call and turned off his phone. Now I’m left feeling completely confused and unsure of what to do next. I’ve been running through all sorts of scenarios in my mind, and I don’t know what to think. Has anyone else been through something like this? How did you handle it?
