Tragedy Strikes as Two Police Officers Gunned Down in Ambush By Suspected Thugs In Nima

According to the video posted on twitter today by ChannelOne TV, in Nima community in Accra, two police officers lost their lives after being ambushed by suspected criminals on patrol.

The officers, identified as Sergeant Kwame Boakye and Senior Sergeant Kofi Agyeman, were conducting a routine patrol when they encountered the armed suspects.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the entire community and police force in shock and grief.

An eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, described the shocking moment:

“I heard gunshots and, by the time I looked out, the officers were already on the ground.”

The witness explained that the suspects quickly fled the scene, taking with them the officers’ firearms and uniforms.

Preliminary investigations by the Nima Police Department reveal that the ambush was well-planned.

The suspects, armed and determined, targeted the officers as they patrolled the area known for frequent criminal activity.

Tragically, Sergeant Boakye was shot twice in the abdomen, while Senior Sergeant Agyeman sustained four gunshot wounds.

Despite quick efforts to get them to a nearby hospital, both officers died from their injuries.

“The criminals managed to escape with their weapons. We couldn’t find any trace of the pistols at the scene,” said Deputy Police Commander Inspector Daniel Mensah during a press briefing.

“This is deeply troubling. Not only did we lose two brave men, but the community is now on edge, knowing these armed individuals are still at large.”

The Nima police have since launched an intense manhunt to track down the suspects. They are determined to bring them to justice and restore calm to the community. Inspector Mensah assured the public that

“we are putting in every effort to capture these criminals. The community can be assured that we won’t rest until we have them in custody.”

Local residents are now on high alert, fearing for their safety amidst the rise in crime. A community leader voiced the concerns of many, saying,

“Our hearts go out to the families of these officers. They served to protect us, and we are devastated by this loss. We hope the police can find these attackers quickly.”
