As Ghana gears up for the December 7 elections, Baba Jamal, a prominent figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and former Member of Parliament(MP) for Akwatia has made bold predictions about the political landscape.

In an interview on Okay FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Jamal confidently stated that the NDC is poised to win a majority of parliamentary seats, estimating that the party will secure 160 out of 260 seats.

“I see a clear path to victory for the NDC,” Jamal declared. “Our candidates are ready, and we will leave only 100 seats for the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP). This election is ours to win!”

His assertions come at a crucial time, as the current parliament is evenly split, with both the NDC and NPP holding 137 seats each. This hung parliament has created a unique and sometimes contentious political dynamic, making the upcoming elections all the more significant.

Jamal’s predictions extend beyond parliamentary seats; he also expressed confidence in the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

“Just as we’ve seen Donald Trump make a comeback in the US, I believe the people of Ghana will choose Mahama to lead us once again,” he emphasized.

This comparison to US politics highlights a trend where global political narratives influence local sentiments.

The NDC’s campaign strategy is reportedly robust, focusing on engaging voters and addressing the pressing issues facing Ghanaians today. Jamal noted, “We are listening to the people and responding to their needs. The NPP has had its chance, and now it’s time for change.”
