The Minister further elaborated on the policy’s key components, which include initiatives for satellite development, space research, human capacity building, and international collaboration. By establishing a solid foundation for Ghana’s involvement in the global space sector, MESTI envisions a future where Ghanaian expertise and innovation contribute to the advancement of space technology on the African continent and beyond.

During the event, stakeholders engaged in vibrant discussions about the policy’s potential to attract investment, enhance technological infrastructure, and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. Many highlighted how this policy could bridge gaps in disaster management, precision agriculture, and telecommunications—areas where space science applications are poised to make a substantial difference.

The unveiling of the Ghana Space Science Policy not only signals a milestone for MESTI but also for Ghana’s overarching strategy for sustainable development. Hon. Mensah-Hayford extended her gratitude to all stakeholders for their continued commitment to advancing science and technology in Ghana and called on them to be active partners in implementing the policy.
