According to a press statement released by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the spokesperson of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing to address parents, students, and all stakeholders in education on his blueprint for a future of opportunity and skill for Ghanaian youth.

Scheduled for November 10, 2024, this broadcast is expected to detail Dr Bawumia’s commitment to protect and enhance the Free SHS (Senior High School) and Free TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programs.

The release says Dr Bawumia acknowledges the deep concerns expressed by parents and students regarding the continuity of Free SHS, a program that has enabled thousands of Ghanaian youth to access secondary education without financial barriers.

“We understand the importance of Free SHS to parents and young people across Ghana. My commitment is to not only protect this program but to expand it to cover the skill-based learning many of our youth need,” Dr. Bawumia had stated in a recent engagement.

Miracles Aboagye issued the official statement on November 6, 2024, underscoring the importance of skill development in Dr. Bawumia’s vision.

“This engagement will focus on empowering our youth with job-ready skills, which is why the NPP has such a strong focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education,” Aboagye emphasized in his statement.

The upcoming broadcast will mark Dr Bawumia’s second major address to the youth in just a few weeks.
