Parliamentary Candidate urges electorate to change traditional voting pattern

By Michael Owusu Duodu

Bechem (A/R), Nov. 5, GNA – Mr Christopher Kofi Nti, the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate of the New Force Movement in the Tano South Constituency of the Ahafo Region has urged the electorate to vote for him when they go to polls on December 7.

He underlined the need for the electorate to reconsider their traditional support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming that such patterns have hindered the development of the constituency.

Mr Nti noted that the two major political parties had had enough opportunity in government but failed to make meaningful progress in national development.

“The reason is simple: they come just to feed their stomachs at the expense of the masses, and we must show the two political parties the red card this time,” he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Bechem, the constituency capital.

“Youth unemployment is becoming unbearable,” he stated, and stressed his commitment to prioritise agricultural, tourism and human development to create more jobs for the youth, if he wins the constituency seat.

Mr Nti said the economic potential of the nation remained bright, saying making the agriculture sector attractive would attract more of the unemployed youth in the area into commercial farming.

That would not only create unemployment opportunities but also improve national food production and security.

Mr Nti expressed concern about the growing trend of irregular migration among the youth in the area, saying the youth required jobs to live decent lives.

He said the constituency had several tourist attraction sites which could be developed to boost eco-tourism, indicating that “there are even several rivers and streams here that can be developed as tourist sites.”

Mr Nti said the constituency required processing factories to drive industrialization and create more jobs.

He appealed on the electorate to vote for him and contribute to a peaceful election, saying that remained the surest way to bring the development to the constituency.

Mr Nti also entreated political parties and their supporters to endeavour to maintain decorum in the electioneering period.
