The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has reassured citizens that the upcoming 2024 general election will be conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner.
In response to public concerns regarding ballot paper printing, the commission organized a media tour of one of the contracted printing facilities.
A video of the tour, shared on social media by ChannelOne TV, features Deputy EC Commissioner Benjamin Banor-Bioh explaining the security protocols in place at the ballot printing vault.
The vault is secured with a heavy metallic door and multiple padlocks, each of which is entrusted to representatives from various political parties, ensuring that access remains tightly controlled.
Banor-Bioh emphasized that even the printing house employees cannot enter the vault, highlighting the EC’s commitment to accountability and transparency in the electoral process.
“Even the company itself, once contracted, cannot access the vault. This demonstrates accountability in action and transparency in motion,” said the EC deputy commissioner.
