Medeama Sporting Club suffered their first home defeat of the season at the hands of Accra Hearts of Oak on Friday at the TNA Park.
The Rainbows were in need of a positive result, having suffered a surprise defeat at home to Gold Stars before making the trip to Tarkwa.
Medeama, who made a strong start to their league campaign with four unbeaten games at home manged to keep Hearts’ attackers at bay but failed stop them in the second half.
Aboubakar Ouattara’s side finally took the lead in the 62nd minute through Kwabena Boateng before Mawuli Wayo sealed the win in the 88th minute.
The 2-0 victory means Hearts of Oak have now recorded their third win out of 9 Premier League games, helping them to move from the 12th position to 7th – two points off the top four.
Defeat for Medeama means they remain 3rd on the league table with 15 points after matchday 9.

Victorious Hearts of Oak will now return to Accra to host Vision FC whiles Medeama travel to face Dreams FC on matchday 10.
