Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster, Captain Smart, has unleashed a scathing attack on the government’s handling of the Keta Port project. Smart expressed frustration that despite claims of completion, not a single block has been laid at the project site. He questioned the government’s sincerity, highlighting the disparity between their claims and the reality on the ground.
Smart’s criticism was sparked by a previous statement he made about the project, which prompted a call from an individual claiming that the port was already built. Smart challenged Honourable Titus Glover to drive to Keta and show him the port, emphasizing that talk is cheap, but action is what matters.
The broadcaster also raised concerns about the government’s allocation of 56,000 cedis to the CEO of Keta Port, despite the project’s apparent stagnation. He questioned the justification for such expenditure, given the lack of progress.
Furthermore, Smart highlighted the plight of local residents who had their land taken under the guise of building the port. He emphasized that the government should acknowledge its shortcomings rather than making false claims.
According to Smart, over $52 million has been spent on the project, yet there is no tangible evidence of progress. This revelation has sparked outrage, with many Ghanaians demanding accountability.
