Retain NPP in government to protect Free SHS Policy

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region, Alfred Obeng-Boateng, has appealed to his constituents to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in government to protect the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

He said the policy had since 2017, relieved parents and guardians of financial burdens, and people should vote for the party to continue implementing it to benefit more students.

The MP said this during a community engagement to propagate some of the development interventions executed by the NPP government in the last eight years in office.

Some of the communities visited were Mframakrom, Ahoikrom, Fawanihwe, and Kwartenkrom, all in the Basengele Electoral Area.

Obeng-Boateng mentioned some of the projects he had initiated in the constituency including, the Greener Pastures Programme, 56 mechanized boreholes, 19 basic school infrastructure at various stages of completion, health infrastructure, employment for the youth, scholarships, and roads among others.

He, therefore, asked the people to come out in their numbers and vote for him and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 polls to bring progress in the area.

“Use this election as an opportunity to express appreciation to the NPP government for the regional creation and implementation of Free SHS Policy,” the MP stated.

The Chiefs and people in the communities visited appealed for basic school blocks, durbar grounds, telephone masts, good roads, and connections to the national electricity grid.

The MP was accompanied by constituency executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, and Polling Station Executives among others promised to work with the government to find lasting solutions to the problems confronting the communities.
