All set for “Tadi Carnival” premier on Friday

Takoradi, Oct. 23, GNA-“Tadi Carnival”, a compilation of dramatic scenes of the popular Masquerade Festival in the Western Region, is to be premiered on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.

The Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi would host an audience from diverse backgrounds in the evening of that Friday to catch a glimpse of the executive premiering to set the tone for many such premieres ahead of the yuletide.

Mr. Prince Dugbartey, the Executive Producer and Director of Positive Influence Production (PIP) Movie House told the Ghana News Agency that, “As a leading movie production house in the Twin-City, we have joined in this success, to promote the Masquerade Carnival through story and film production and are already out with a new movie project on the Masquerade Carnival.”

The idea of this new film, he said, is to support and help in promoting the Masquerade Carnival and Sekondi-Takoradi, by telling a captivating story for the individual or group of people to appreciate the contribution of the various Masquerade Clubs and brass band clubs to the local economic development.

The Takoradi Masquerade Carnival has grown over the years, bringing down the old, young and mighty from all walks of life.

Mr. Dugbartey, said developing the plot and scenes of the play took him three years, adding, “I needed to convey the message in the right story format and approach.”

The film features Too Much of Junka Town Fame, Alaska, Late Yogot, among others.

Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Western Regional Minister, an advocate of the Masquerade Festival observed from December 24 to January 1 every year, would be the special guest for Friday’s night premier.
