Palgrave Boakye-Danquah Criticizes Bishop Salifu Amoako’s Remarks On Son’s Reckless Driving Incident

Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, the Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, has sharply criticized Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako following the latter’s recent comments regarding the tragic accident involving his son. Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on October 21, 2024, Boakye-Danquah described Bishop Amoako’s remarks as insensitive and dismissive, given the seriousness of the situation.

During a church service on October 20, 2024, Bishop Amoako defended his son, Elrad Salifu Amoako, claiming the incident was an unfortunate accident. “It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to go and kill anybody,” the bishop stated. However, Boakye-Danquah countered that the reckless driving of Bishop Amoako’s son resulted in the tragic deaths of two young girls and should not be downplayed as just an accident.

Boakye-Danquah stressed that the incident has left Ghanaians both locally and abroad deeply hurt and called on Bishop Amoako to refrain from making further public statements on the matter. He warned that such comments could fuel public outrage and urged the bishop to allow the legal process to run its course without further commentary.
