Check Why Asiedu Nketiah Unexpectedly Suspends His Bono Regional Tour

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has suspended his ‘retail campaign’ tour in the Bono region.

The venerable politician was in the region solidifying the base of the party ahead of the crucial upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

He has been selling the transformational policies of John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the people of the Bono Region, urging them to vote massively for the Former President and the NDC parliamentary candidates.

But he brought the successful tour to an abrupt end due to the recent development in Parliament. The recent power shift in the lawmaking chamber has sparked a political storm as both the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party sides in Parliament have expressed optimism about occupying the Majority side of the House.

It is in the wake of the power struggle that the NDC National Chairman decided to pulse his tour to immediately dash to the nation’s capital of Accra.

According to 3news online, the NDC National Chairman made a pronouncement in a community engagement at Banda Ahenkro in the Banda constituency.

“We cannot ignore the critical issues unfolding in parliament. Our focus must shift to addressing these pressing matters,” Asiedu Nketiah declared.

Parliament gears up for a showdown between the NDC and the NPP Members of Parliament during sitting on Tuesday. In an unprecedented turn of events, both the NDC and the NPP sides claim to be the Majority in the house.

The abrupt suspension of the campaign mirrors the opposition NDC’s resolve to protect their “Majority Status” regardless of the ruling from the Supreme Court.
