2024 Elections: Don’t give power to foolish people

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the General Overseer and Presiding Archbishop of Action Chapel International Ministry has emphasised the importance of Ghanaians voting wisely to avoid electing unqualified individuals into positions of power as leaders.

According to him, “To whom much is given, much is expected,” so the significant power to serve as leaders of the country must be entrusted wisely to individuals who are equally wise and have the conscience to use that power for the nation’s development.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams made this known on Sunday, October 20, 2024, while preaching to his congregants.

“They give great authority to foolish people that is why when you are going, you must vote, and you must use conscience and conviction to vote because there are some people they must never have authority, they must never have power because when they have power and authority, they destroy a country, that is what is there.”

Additionally, Duncan-Williams criticised the country’s leadership for rewarding close allies with leadership positions, despite their lack of qualifications, which has contributed to running the country into a ditch.

“They give low positions to people who have what it takes to deliver, they won’t give it to people who are qualified. I have seen people who have come from Europe, North America, Canada with what it takes to move this country, but they are always frustrated till they pack their things to return back overseas.

“You can go to the top and they wont do anything because that person he has given authority to is one of the people who helped him to win the elections so even though they know the person doesn’t have what it takes, they will not replace the person with the qualified person who can move the country but will allow the unqualified person to mess up the country, that is what is going on,” he stated.
