You will stop campaigning for Bawumia when you hear his comments on E-Levy – Akufo-Addo told

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has expressed that President Akufo-Addo will withdraw his support for Bawumia’s candidacy if he discovers Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s stance on the E-levy and betting tax, among other issues, citing it as a betrayal.

This comes on the back of John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), responding to President Akufo-Addo’s comment that he has failed to comment on national issues.

President Akufo-Addo recently challenged Mr. Mahama to clarify his position on key national issues, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

Speaking to supporters in Ningo Prampram on Thursday, Mr. Mahama expressed concerns over the president’s failure to acknowledge his previously stated views.

He stated that President Akufo-Addo was either ignoring or unaware of his clear positions on the Free SHS program and the ongoing galamsey (illegal mining) crisis.

Commenting on the development in a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, Dr Apaak stated,” I’m pretty sure NADAA has not even heard the position of his driver mate [DMB] on E-levy, betting tax, and the Covid levy, amongst others. When he wakes up to hear it, he will stop campaigning for DMB for betraying him.”
