Prophet Ebenezer Adakwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, has expressed concerns over the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign approach, suggesting it reflects poorly on the government’s performance. He specifically targeted the NPP’s economic policies, highlighting the high taxes imposed on Ghanaians.
According to Opambour, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s promise to cancel these taxes if elected is a damning indictment of President Akufo-Addo’s leadership. “If Bawumia says he will cancel these taxes, it means his leader, Akufo-Addo, is incompetent,” Opambour emphasized. This statement comes after reports emerged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has gained a majority in parliament ahead of the elections.
Opambour’s critique extends beyond his prophetic insights, appealing to the wisdom of all listeners. “The beginning of everything is not difficult, but the end,” he cautioned, implying that the NPP’s policies have failed to deliver promised results.
It’s worth noting that the NPP and NDC have been evenly represented in parliament since 2021, with 137 seats each. This shift in majority could significantly impact Ghana’s political landscape.
As Ghana navigates its complex political terrain, Opambour’s words have resonated with many. The country’s economic challenges, including high taxes, remain a pressing concern for citizens.
