17-10-24: Heavy Rains And Thunderstorms Expected In These Areas, Meteorological Agency Send Warnings

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued warnings on the intermittent weather changes for the next 24 hours. A new change in climate has been recorded which has caused the raining season to elapse its predicted end period. Traditionally, September marks the end of the raining season whiles October marks the onset of the dry season especially with harmattan. A short season for rain has been recorded and that is responsible for the rains we still experience currently.
In a post sighted via the official twitter page of the Ghana Meteorological Agency is the weather for update for today. The coastline of Ghana will experience early morning rains and a partially cloudy weather. Thunderstorms and rains are expected in the day and a cloudy weather in the evening. Zones slightly above the coastal areas are also expected to have same weather conditions as the coastal zone. The middle and transition belt zones are also expected to have early morning rains. Sunny breaks in the day is expected with chances of rains and thunderstorms in the evening. The northern belt zone is expected to have a partially cloudy morning, sunny periods in some parts of the north with chances of isolated thunderstorms and rain in certain areas as indicated on the summary sheet below.
In summary, Southern Ghana will be dominated by mostly cloudy conditions throughout the forecast period. However, rain with or without thunderstorms is expected to affect coastal and some inland areas from morning into the afternoon. Later in the day, parts of the middle and transitional sectors are expected to experience thunderstorms with rain, while the northern regions will remain partly cloudy with pockets of late-night thunderstorms. In the early hours of the day, mist or fog patches will form over the forest and mountainous areas. The state of the sea is rough.
Heavy rains have been recorded throughout the day except in the middle and northern zones where sunny periods are expected in the afternoon.
