One of NDC’s gallant soldiers and deputy communications officer, Maleek Basintale has recently been in the news due to his strong urge to expose the sitting government on their shortcomings. In one of his TV interviews, he revealed a shocking pay-slip which indicated payments made to the overseer of the national cathedral project. The slip revealed that, the overseer receives a whooping 21,000 cedis every month as salary. This caused massive stir online as many Ghanaians were left in shock and dismay for the fact that, the project has even been on halt for about two years now.

Yesterday at a gathering, Dr. Joyce Aryee, a member of the board of trustees for the national cathedral in an interview session with the media made some comments on the project. She stated clearly that, the project is on halt but will proceed shortly. This is due to lack funding. The cathedral already has had an allocation of 52 million dollars and yet still, no significant progress has been made. She urged the public to do their very best to donate to build the cathedral. One of the media representatives asked about payment of salaries to workers on the project and she confirmed them, payments of salaries can’t be halted even though the project is on halt. She refused to make further comments on salaries been paid. Her reply caused massive stir online as Ghanaians could not believe what they heard. Comments from some concerned citizens showed that, the government has no intention to prioritize important projects to save the failed economy.

In a post sighted on the official twitter page of the deputy communications officer of the NDC is a justification post on the revelation he made about payment of salaries to workers on the project. “I thought the robots said the payslips I shared were fake. They will hear from us soon. You can’t be this wicked to a nation”, he shared. His post has caught the attention of the public as some concerned citizens have finally agreed to his claims as replies of Dr. Joyce Aryee justifies his claims. Find below some comments I gathered.
