One arrested over NDC, NPP clash at Mamobi

One person has been arrested in connection with the violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi, a suburb of Accra on Sunday.

The political confrontation, which escalated into a violent altercation, resulted in injuries to nine individuals, stirring tensions within the community.

The police acted swiftly to bring the situation under control and have since initiated efforts to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the unrest.

The police in an update on Monday assured the public that investigations into the disturbances were still ongoing.

“The Ghana Police Service wishes to assure the general public that investigation into the disturbances that occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi in Accra, Sunday 13th October 2024, is still ongoing.”

“So far, one person has been arrested in connection with the incident and the Police are working around the clock to get all identified perpetrators arrested to face justice,” the police said.
