14-10-24: Ghana Meteorological Agency Sends Warning Of Thunderstorms And Heavy Rain Over These Areas

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has updated the public on the weather patterns for today Monday October 14, 2024. The service they provide is of high importance as it helps people plan their daily activities including travels, the type of clothe to wear especially in cold zones and also helps anticipate certain events. This year’s raining season has taken a new form as revealed by the agency. Per their remarks, the raining season this year has a long and short season. Currently, the short raining season is what we are experiencing. Over the years, rains were not expected from mid-September onwards due to the onset of the dry season. This year, a short raining season has taken effect.

In a post sighted via the official twitter page of the Ghana Meteorological Agency is the weather for update for today. The coastline of Ghana as usual will experience early morning mist and a variably cloudy weather in the day associated with slight to moderate rain with occasional thunderstorms. Zones slightly above the coastal areas are also expected to have same weather conditions as the coastal zone. The middle and transition belt zones are also expected to have early morning mists with patches of fog especially in mountainous areas. Variably cloudy weather in the day is expected with chances of rains and thunderstorms. The northern belt zone is expected to have a clear morning and a variably cloudy day with chances of isolated thunderstorms and rain.
This morning, variably cloudy weather is anticipated for most parts of the country with cases of slight to moderate rain affecting the coastline and forecast areas. Mist or fog patches will form in the early hours over the forest and mountainous zones. In the course of the day, mostly sunny conditions will prevail. However, thunderstorms or rain are expected over the southern half and parts of the northern sector of the country from the afternoon into the evening. The state of the sea is rough as influenced by the thunderstorms and rains expected during the day.
