Thousands of people crowded Tamale North as incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini launched his 2024 campaign on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

The widely attended event is part of his re-election bid on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket after Suhuyini received overwhelming support from constituents and party loyalists.

Key NDC parliamentarians, such as former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu and North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, attended the launch, along with other notable MPs.

They praised Suhuyini’s service to Tamale North and urged the crowd to remain dedicated to ensuring his victory in the upcoming elections.

The presence of these senior MPs highlighted party unity and the importance of strong representation in the Northern Region. NDC executives also participated in the campaign launch, showing high-level support for Suhuyini’s re-election bid.

MP for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George from was also present, emphasising the need for teamwork and a strategic approach to increase the NDC’s parliamentary majority in 2024.

During the event, Haruna Iddrisu called on the NDC parliamentary caucus, the Speaker of Parliament, and all NDC members to declare the NDC as the majority group in Parliament by Wednesday, October 12, in accordance with Article 97(g) of the Constitution.
