Anointed Palace Chapel founder, Rev. Isaac Obofour
Rev. Isaac Obofour has dispelled claims that he and other pastors met with presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama for personal benefits.
The Anointed Palace Chapel founder, has particularly responded to Okatakyie Afrifa’s assertion that he, along with other pastors, sought to secure advantages should the NDC come back to power.
Earlier broadcaster Okatakyie Afrifa on his show on Angel FM said, “The end goal of these pastors meeting with NDC’ Mahama is to secure benefits when the party attains power. Rev. Obofour is an astute businessman, do you think that after everything when the NDC comes to power, he won’t benefit from it?
“A chuck of pastors are involved in the galamsey business. So thier aim is that, when there is a change in government, the concession will be moved to thier side. If Sam Korankye-Ankrah, Agyinasare, and co are following the NDC, it is because of the benefits.”
In response, Rev. Obofour labelled these allegations as false.
Expressing his frustration, he stated, “I’m upset that I was included in the group of pastors supposedly seeking personal interests. I didn’t go there out of desperation for food or shelter; we went there for Ghana.”
He emphasised, “I am not aligned with any political party. If any party calls on me, I’ll make myself available.”
On October 1, 2024, Mr. John Mahama, invited members of the clergy for an interaction session and also to offer prayers for him.
The gathering brought together a diverse group of church leaders from various denominations, including the Catholic, Pentecostal, Charismatic, and spiritual churches.
