Election 2024: FCUBE will be real when I’m elected

Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has made a bold pledge to implement the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) policy in Ghana if elected in the 2024 general elections.

According to her, she would ensure that every child, regardless of their background or financial situation, has access to quality education without any obstacles.

During her interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Madam Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah emphasized that under her leadership, all children will have the opportunity to enrol in school and pursue at least an associate degree, even if their parents are unable to support them financially.

Madam Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah was optimistic about empowering future generations and driving progress in Ghana.

“The CPP’s position, in particular, I told you that I spent a trumpet of my life paying for people’s fees. We say it should have been done some decades ago. If I win the elections, Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) will be real. It will be real just as I’m bringing a decentralisation system, I’m making it real, no child will be on the streets. If you’re a parent, listen to me clearly, you don’t have a right to decide whether your child should be in school or not.

“Whether you are a foreigner from Mali or anywhere, it doesn’t matter. No child will be on the streets. Every young person, let me tell you something and this is the truth, all of you will have access to at least an associate degree and if your parents can’t afford the PHD level, you will do it. Because we believe in you.

“We believe that when you can get the best of education, you will come back and stay in the country and the system that we’re bringing in Ghana, you will contribute with youthful age and exuberance.”
