A-Plus Boldly Tells Popular Station And Turns Down Its Invitation

Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as Kwame A-Plus, an independent candidate for the Gomoa Central Constituency in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, has turned down an invitation from a popular radio station.

Atinka FM has invited Kwame Asare Obeng to debate other candidates vying for the Gomoa Central seat.

He was to debate the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwame Dean and Naana Eyiah, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate.

But in a Facebook post, A-Plus alleged that the parent company of Atinka FM, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals refused a request to donate medicine for medical screening in his constituency and hence he would not honour the invitation. He stressed that the debate would not impact his campaign anywhere, boasting that he has more followers than the station.

He expressed willingness to partake in the debate only if Tobinco Pharmaceuticals supplied the medicine they initially refused to give him.

On the said day, Kwame Asare Obeng said he would be engaged in conducting eye screenings to address various conditions, particularly glaucoma, and providing free medications to those in need.

“Thank you for the invitation. I want to be clear: your debate will not impact my campaign and won’t provide any benefit to me. In fact, Kwame A Plus has a larger following than Atinka FM! You need me, I don’t! It’s important to recognize that my appearance would primarily attract sponsors and generate revenue for you, so please, pay me,” part of his post on Facebook reads.

Kwame Asare Obeng is desperately seeking to unseat the NPP Member of Parliament. Analysts predict that he would be a force to reckon with.
