‘I’m a Gen-Z beauty obsessive

As a self-proclaimed beauty obsessive, there is nothing I love more than being able to bag a bargain, and what better time than Amazon Prime day to stock up on my most loved beauty items.

I can’t say I’m a skincare guru, but after endless hours spent scrolling on TikTok and YouTube watching makeup and beauty reviews, I’ve tried countless viral products to see what’s actually worth buying.

When it comes to online shopping for skincare, it can be hard to know what to pick up, but if you’re looking for inspiraiton, here’s what I’ve got in my basket for today’s mega sale.

I’m finally able to restock my makeup bag thanks to Amazon Prime Day

skincare products
Some of my makeup favourites are currently on offer

For skincare, I am quite fussy due to struggling with acne as a teenager, so I am always changing and trying new products (much to my bank account’s dismay), but one thing I always seem to go back to is the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Filler Serum with Hyaluronic Acid. Despite being a drugstore brand, this little bottle will usually set you back £31.99, but you can bag it for just £11.99 on Amazon Prime Day. I love this serum as it makes my skin look plump and hydrated while not being too rich and leaving my face sticky and greasy. It also comes with a dropper which makes it easy to apply before putting moisturiser on.

Another of my favourites is the CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion. While this isn’t too expensive at full price (£16.50) it’s just £10 during Prime Day, and at the end of the day, a bargain is a bargain. This mighty moisturiser is packed with niacinimide, ceramides an hyaluronic acid. It’s a good night cream as it’s light and doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky before bed.

When it comes to face wash, I do love the Elemis Cleansing Balm but I hate forking out £50 on it, so I have swapped it for The Inkey List Oat Cleanising Balm after seeing countless raving reviews about it online, and it’s fair to say I am a fan. It doesn’t quite have the same boujee look and smell as the Elemis balm, but it does the job (and there have been no breakouts so far). Again, it’s not too expensive full price (£11.99) but it’s on sale for £8.99 currently.

I love all things makeup, and after many years of trial and error, I have pretty much nailed down my ride-or-die routine. I have tried what feels like every foundation under the sun for combination skin, and at the moment, I have settled for L’Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation. As far as drugstore makeup goes, this is brilliant for long wear without feeling cakey, and it’s discounted to just £7.29 on Prime Day.

My other makeup hero is the viral Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara, which is usually £12.99 and only £5.99 on Prime Day. It keeps its curl well and really defines each individual lash. I have quite small eyes so it’s great for making them pop. It’s also a good mascara for layering if you like to wear more than one. Plus, it’s waterproof so it’s a win win.

After doing some browsing, I came across some other tempting offers that went straight into my basket such as the Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream for £13.79 which is usually £28, and Olaplex no.3 hair perfector which is usually £28, and is now £19.95. Some of these discounts are just too good to let go.
