Ghana’s growing economy drawing companies back to the market

Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has expressed confidence in the growing momentum of Ghana’s economy, asserting that it is now well-positioned to attract companies that previously exited due to the economic challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highlighting the return of Virgin Atlantic Airlines to Ghana’s business landscape, Dr Amin Adam emphasised that this marks a strong signal of economic revival, with the country poised for sustained growth.

Speaking at the second edition of the Quarterly Economic Roundtable, organised by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research (ISSER), on Monday, October 7, the Finance Minister called for collaborative efforts across sectors to solidify the nation’s recovery and drive long-term economic expansion.

“We have received significant positive change currently occurring in the economy. We’re told that some companies left the country when the economy went down. It is important to note that, companies are returning to Ghana because they see the economy is growing and the trajectory is positive.

“And hopefully, they can partner with us and move the growth of the economy. Virgin Atlantic, has returned to Ghana to operate as an airline. Because they see the economic recovery to be real and they see the future of Ghana to be positive.

“There are many new companies we haven’t heard of but they are coming, so let’s get ready for them to build that strong partnership with them. There are many, Let’s get ready to use the expertise, technology and capital they are bringing so that we can leverage them to support the growth of the economy,” Dr Mohammed Amin Adam said.
